International Primary School Meerane (IPM) & International Primary School Glauchau (IGS)

A new phase of life begins for preschool children when they enter elementary school. In order to provide the children with the best possible support during this time and to prepare them for their new tasks, close cooperation between our kindergarten and the schools of our sister organization, Saxony International School, is beneficial.

Taking into account their individual development, the children are given the opportunity to prepare for the transition to elementary school in their last year of kindergarten through various projects and targeted support and get to know their new living environment "school" step by step.

Focus of the cooperation

Organization of information evenings for parents: Teaching school readiness skills, designing the school entry phase, implementing the daycare and school concept, which builds on each other.
Teachers sit in on school preparation activities at the daycare center (provide assistance in the event of problems; offer support and challenge opportunities).
Further training for educators in relation to school readiness
Visit of children, parents and parent council in a lesson for "taster".
